Legal Aid Society helping state flood victims

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Legal Aid Society is helping to organize volunteer lawyers in Davidson and Williamson counties to give free legal help to flood victims.

The Legal Aid Society — the state's largest nonprofit law firm — and the Nashville Pro Bono Program regularly staff monthly clinics where flood victims can get help.

Additionally, they are offering a special walk-in clinic for flood victims on Wednesday at 300 Deaderick Street in Nashville. Beginning at 5 p.m., volunteer lawyers will be available to meet privately with flood victims who have questions or need assistance.

A toll-free legal help line is available for victims in all of Tennessee's 42 disaster-hit counties. It's manned at 1-888-395-9297 on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Messages may be left at any time.
