OOLTEWAH: Bankston elected to Commission

by Steve Ray

Congratulations to Chester Bankston, who was elected to the Hamilton County Commission to represent District 9. He will fill the spot vacated by Commissioner Bill Hullander, who was elected Hamilton County trustee.

Also, congratulations to Mr. Bankston's opponents, Gary Neil and Richard Tornquist. Both ran positive races that were well received by the voters of District 9. Win or lose, I can assure you that anyone who participates in the electoral process is appreciated.

Mr. Hullander will be missed as our commissioner here in Ooltewah, but we wish him congratulations and good luck as Hamilton County trustee.

Don't forget that the NCAA Golf Tournament starts June 1 at The Honors Course in Ooltewah. Everyone is welcome to come out and watch. Admission is free.
