Lookouts win 6-1; second game postponed

MOBILE, Ala. -- Chattanooga and Mobile were scheduled to play a pair of seven-inning games Tuesday evening, but rain halted the opener after six innings with the visiting Lookouts winning 6-1.

The Lookouts (17-21) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning on Jessie Mier's single to center field that scored Scott Van Slyke and Chris Withrow's double to center that scored Tommy Giles and Mier. Chattanooga's sixth through ninth hitters went 6-for-10 with five RBIs.

Games four and five of a five-game series in Mobile are tonight, beginning at 6:05 EDT. Mario Alvarez (3-2, 3.68 ERA) and Timothy Sexton (2-1, 3.68) are scheduled as the starting pitchers in the seven-inning games for the Lookouts.
