DUNLAP: Veterans memorial, kids expo

The county executive and I met with Paul Goode, a field representative from U.S. Sen. Bob Corker's office who serves the valley. He has pledged his office to assist with the new Veterans Memorial that is being organized. Anyone who would like to be part of this effort may call the Chamber office at 949-7608.

A Kid's Health Expo for ages 6 to 11 will be Sunday between 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. CDT. It will be held at Dunlap's Training Center. It will offer free admission, healthy snacks, fun activities and eight ways to stay healthy.

The Chamber board approved the strategic planning committee's draft, and copies are available at the Chamber's office. There is time for additions and adjustments. The County Commission will review and approve it by July.

We received the first draft of the magazine from CommunityLink pictures. Information still is being gathered, and time and space is available for those who would like to participate.

The Chamber will receive a computer work station next week from the Tennessee Small Business Development Center. This center is designed to help people seeking jobs and information about business.

We have established an office in the Chamber building and will provide information and schedules after installation.
