ROME, Ga. - Police say a preliminary investigation shows a Floyd County man shot his wife to death during a quarrel, then turned the gun on himself.

Police say Jeffery Ware apparently shot his wife, Jeannine, Wednesday afternoon before killing himself.

Capt. Mark Wallace of the Floyd County Police Department says the woman was holding her 16-year-old son's leg when she was shot in the back. Wallace says she was shot at least twice more.

Wallace says the couple's 14-year-old son was also in the home, and called 911 after the shootings.

Police say neither teen was injured in the shootings.
