Theresa Parker laid to rest

Saturday, October 9, 2010

Crowds of friends gathered this afternoon at LaFayette Cemetery in Georgia to help the family mourn and say goodbye as murder victim Theresa Parker was laid to rest.

"We want to say thanks to everyone for all their prayers. Our family will be eternally grateful to the community," said Jon Wilson, Parker's brother in-law.

The remains of Parker, the former Walker County 911 dispatcher who has been missing since 2007, were found in Chattooga County on Sept. 20 and given back to her family last week.

In 2009, Parker's husband, former LaFayette, Ga., city police officer Sam Parker, was convicted of killing her, even though her body had not been found. He is serving a life term in prison.
