Chattanooga Tea Party endorses independent Kyriakidis

by Dan Whisenhunt

The Chattanooga Tea Party today endorsed independent 3rd Congressional District candidate Savas Kyriakidis, according to a news release from Mark West, local tea party president.

“Savas' commitment to his faith, the Constitution, conservative values and principles and the people of the 3rd District is without dispute,” West said in the release. “Further, in a time when both parties have failed the American people, we believe that Savas’ independent voice will enable him to champion the needs of the 3rd District.”

Kyriakidis is co-owner of the Acropolis Restaurant at Hamilton Place and now serves as the command judge advocate for the 20th Special Forces Group.

Representatives for Republican 3rd Congressional District candidate Chuck Fleischmann were not immediately available for comment. John Wolfe, the Democratic 3rd District candidate, also was not available.

I, too, am supporting Savas for Congress.

But I do find this interesting that Mr. West has a hand in this endorsement, since it is due to the influence of his long-time buddy Mr. Huckabee who endorsed Mr. Fleischmann in this race, that we are forced to look to an Independent as the best candidate. If it had not been for the mind-numbed Huckabee followers supporting Fleischmann and his gutter politics over the great candidate we already had in Robin Smith, we wouldn't be in this position today.

Voters, please realize why the Tea Party has chosen Mr. Kyriakidis. Mark West was a big time supporter of LOSER Robin Smith. Anyone who knows his scary pick is aware she cannot accept her defeat. She and her pods have continued slinging mud long after the primary she lost is over. Her claim to fame is divisiveness. Rather than accept the primary election results and support the Republican nominee, Chuck Fleischmann who DEFEATED his pick, the group has gone with an independent. No offense attended to Mr. Kyriakidis, who seems to be a fine fellow, although not the best choice. It is so obvious. Who do you people think you are fooling? This is all about trying to make the best candidate, Chuck, look bad, i.e., all the bashing done because he had a scheduling conflict on the day of the latest debate, etc. Chuck will make a great congressman. This is a very important election as far as “taking our country back,” as tea party members say. We need all the Republican representatives we can get to keep “change” from ruining our great country. Vote Republican—Vote Fleischmann!!
