Chattanooga police officer hit while driving to an emergency

A Chattanooga Police officer was responding to an emergency Thursday afternoon when his patrol car was struck by another vehicle, said Sgt. Jerri Weary, spokeswoman for the Chattanooga Police Department.

The officer was driving on Holtzclaw Avenue when he approached an intersection and was hit by a car traveling east on Bailey Avenue, Weary said.

Neither driver was injured, but both cars were damaged, Weary said.
