41 small meth labs found on Lookout Mountain in Alabama

Staff Report

Police have found 41 one-pot meth labs on the side of Lookout Mountain in DeKalb County.

On Wednesday, the county’s drug task force investigated several tips of a methamphetamine lab on County Road 83, said Sheriff Jimmy Harris in a news release.

Several agencies investigated and found the meth labs and a large amount of other items used to manufacture the drug, he said. Each pot had the potential to produce about three grams of meth, he said.

A hazardous materials unit was called to clean up the materials and removed them from the area.

It appears that the labs were being run in the area and, when they were finished, the cooks were discarding the labs on site, Harris said.

Several suspects have been identified, but no one has been arrested at this point, Harris said.

What ever happened to the good old days of smokin a jay and sharing a bottle of Boone's Farm?
