The Booker T. Scruggs Ensemble will perform at Blue Orleans Restaurant at 3208 Amnicola Highway on Friday at 7:30 p.m. There is no admission price, but reservations may be made by calling 423-629-6538. They will perform a couple of songs made popular by Chattanooga's favorite sons, The Impressions, in recognition of a portion of a local freeway being named in the group's honor on Saturday at Howard School of Academics and Technology. The presentation will be held from 1-3 p.m. at the school, located at 2500 S. Market St.
Starting Saturday, the Brainerd Farmers Market at Grace Episcopal Church will have a pansy vendor from mid-September until the market closes at the end of October.
On Sunday, Sept. 19, Master Gardener Lisa Lemza also will give an informal talk on fall garden cleanup and how to prepare new beds at 4:30 p.m. at Grace Episcopal. The class is free and all are welcome. Call 423-332-1780 for additional information.
