CHICKAMAUGA: Yesteryear Festival/War Between States Day

On Saturday, Sept. 18, there will be activities for the whole family in downtown Chickamauga. The Chickamauga Yesteryear Festival will be run from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Come dressed in vintage clothes, ride the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum Train, enjoy arts and crafts, carriage rides, vintage tractors and military vehicles.

Also on Sept. 18, the annual War Between the States Day will be centered around the Gordon Lee Mansion. The third annual Battle of Chickamauga Barbeque Cook-off will also take place on the mansion grounds. Entry fee is $210 per team. The categories will be pulled pork, ribs and pork loin. Prizes are $500 per category champion, and $1,250 grand champion. For more information, call 706-375-4728.
