ROSSVILLE: 'Wink' Baker honored by school board

Former Rossville High football star and local businessman Jimmy Harold "Wink" Baker was recently honored by the Walker County Board of Education and Ridgeland High School.

Baker was named the Ridgeland Volunteer Wonder Worker of the Year for his efforts of supporting the school. The former teacher, coach and principal has been a leader on many of the academic and athletic projects at Ridgeland.

He helped create the Coach Frank Fabris Memorial scholarship fund, which annually presents two $1,000 scholarships to Ridgeland students.

Baker attended East Tennessee State University, where he was named as a Little All-American quarterback.
