SIGNAL MOUNTAIN: Big Country Breakfast fundraiser on Saturday

The Signal Mountain Eagles Football team continues to roll and will play Sequatchie County at home on Friday at 8 p.m.

The Lone Oak Special Big Country Breakfast is planned for Saturday, Oct. 2. The proceeds from the breakfast will go to help buy diabetic equipment mandated for Lone Oak's free health clinic. Three pieces of equipment are necessary. Mark your calendar and plan to come enjoy good food, fellowship and help raise the needed money for this much-needed purchase. A $6 donation is requested from adults and $3 from children under 12 years of age.

The Signal Mountain Genealogical Society will meet Tuesday, Oct. 5, at the Walden Town Hall at 1 p.m. for refreshments and 1:30 p.m. for the program. Marilyn Long will present a program on "Ghost Stories." Visitors are welcome. For information, call Betty Fassnacht at 886-3183.

The Nov. 2 program for the society will be the "History of Walden's Ridge from Chief Major Ridge through Today," presented by Lavonne C. Jolley.
