Two students detained after morning fight at Brainerd High School

Police transported two male students at Brainerd High School to the juvenile detention center following an early morning fight today.

The students, who are minors and have not been identified, struck an assistant principal, a teacher and a deputy as the officials tried to break up the fight, according to Chattanooga police.

School Resource Officer Marty Ray was slightly injured minor injuries when intervening. He and one of the students crashed through a glass window.

One of the students was charged with two counts of assault and disorderly conduct. Both are being held at the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center, police said.

There was a time these "kids" would have received a beating that they would never forget - prior to being suspended. We have become a soft nation.
