Tennessee Valley Theatre presenting ‘Smoke on the Mountain’

“Smoke on the Mountain,” written by Connie Ray and conceived by Alan Bailey, will be presented today through Sept. 19 at Tennessee Valley Theatre, 184 W. Jackson Ave., in Spring City, Tenn.

The play is set in 1938 on a Saturday night in Mount Pleasant, N.C. The Rev. Oglethorpe has invited the Sanders Family Singers to provide an uplifting evening of singing and witnessing. The musical features more than two dozen songs.

The cast includes Minnie Wimmer, Hunter Walden, Jean Martin, Jim Roberts, Danielle Smith, Lew Smith, Pauline Brown, Shirley Gadd, Jessica Baskin, Angela Garrison and Clyde Armstrong. Dan Frank is directing.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. today and Sept. 17 and at 2 p.m. Sunday and Sept. 19.

Admission is $10. Dinner performances are at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sept. 18 with an admission cost of $20.

A special senior (over 55) luncheon matinee performance is scheduled at noon Monday for $18. Lunch is for seniors only, but all ages are welcome for the show. Tickets are $10 and, reservations are required.

Reservations must be made three days in advance for dinner/luncheon shows.
