Testimony Quartet, Jim Ricketts at Sacred Sounds

The Testimony Quartet and soloist Jim Ricketts are on tap for tonight’s Sacred Sounds concert at the Ringgold Depot. Randall Franks will emcee.

The event is a fundraiser for the Share America Foundation’s Pearl and Floyd Franks Scholarship Fund, which rewards young musicians who excel in the Appalachian musical arts.

The Testimony Quartet features Dove Award nominee Howard Stewart, who sings baritone; US101 radio personality Ken Hicks, who sings bass; tenor singer and group manager Tim Owens; and lead singer Heath Allen.

Hicks said the group is working on a new CD expected out in a few months.

“We’ve got a couple from the old red-back hymnal and some brand new songs as well,” he said.

Ricketts has shared a solo ministry for a decade, and he and his wife, Annette, have recorded several CDs. He previously performed with the Sale Creek Church of God Quartet and Chosen.
