After a dazzling 40-36 at South Pittsburg last week, the Signal Mountain Eagles closed the gap on top-ranked Trousdale County in the Class 2A poll, but the Eagles remained the No 2-ranked team by the narrowest of margins.
Trousdale (4-0) held a 216-215 points lead in the state-wide poll over the Eagles (5-0).
South Pittsburg, which was No. 1 in Class 1A heading into last week's showdown, fell to No. 2, two spots ahead of Copper Basin. Baylor was ranked No. 2 in the Division II poll.
