Doctoring photo case postponed

A court date for a mother and two children who face charges for doctoring a photo used to accuse the woman's ex-husband of vandalizing their downtown clothing store was moved Friday.

Hamilton County Criminal Court Judge Rebecca Stern set the new court appearance for Sana M. Dabit, 47; Pierre M. Dabit, 27; and Rania Marie Abdelnour, 21, for May 4.

The judge could dismiss charged on that date, accept a plea in the case or set a new date, said Brian Finlay, a Hamilton County assistant district attorney.

Charges against Murad "Marc" Abdelnour, who divorced Sana M. Dabit in 2007, were dismissed last March after expert testimony showed someone had added Murad Abdelnour's face to the photo supposedly taken from store video.

Sana M. Dabit, Pierre M. Dabit and Rania Marie Abdelnour were indicted in March on a charge of "a false statement under oath." Pierre M. Dabit is also charged with altering the photograph.
