Teen charged in armed robbery

A Chattanooga teenager was arrested and his brother is wanted in connection with an armed robbery where a mother and daughter were forced to undress while their Appling Street house was ransacked.

Police charged 19-year-old Britain Crutcher with aggravated robbery, three counts of aggravated kidnapping, three counts of aggravated assault and theft over $1,000, said Sgt. Jerri Weary, a police spokeswoman.

Police are still looking for Crutcher's brother, London, Weary said. He has several warrants including charges of aggravated robbery and aggravated kidnapping.

Anyone with information on London Crutcher's whereabouts is asked to contact the Chattanooga Police Department at 423-698-2525.

Man charged in pot operation

A Chattanooga man was charged with three felonies - manufacturing and possessing marijuana for resale and possession of drug paraphernalia - but investigators are unsure if others were involved in the more than $180,000 operation.

Hamilton County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Janice Atkinson didn't know if anyone else was involved with the marijuana the department said was found growing in 26-year-old James Ryan Bellottie's 627 Bell Ave. home. An investigation is ongoing.

Narcotics detectives said they found two rooms with $30,000 of equipment used to grow the plants, as well as a number of plants, plastic bags full of marijuana, scales and other equipment.
