Jury selection began this morning in the murder trial of a 49-year-old man charged with shooting his girlfriend to death in 2008.
A witness told police she heard Malcolm Witherow and Melissa Hoover struggling in front of 7709 Short Tall Springs Road on Oct. 8, 2008, according to court documents.
During the struggle, Connie Harrold told police she heard four gunshots. Hoover ran down the street and collapsed.
Witherow is charged with first-degree murder.
The case is in Criminal Court Judge Rebecca Stern’s courtroom.
