Tuesday, April 5, 2011

A 40-year-old man was shot this morning in an apparent dispute with his roommate, Chattanooga police said.

Alberto DeLeon was shot in the right thigh with a shotgun by his roommate, said police spokeswoman Officer Rebecca Royval.

The incident took place about 5:50 a.m. at 3201 Fifth Ave., she said.

DeLeon was transported to the hospital and, while his condition is unknown, his injuries were non-life threatening, she said.

Thomas Roell, 60, was charged with aggravated assault in connection with the incident, Royval said.

He also also transported to the hospital for unrelated medical issues, she said, and was taken to Hamilton County Jail after being released from the hospital.
