Man hit in leg in gang-related shooting

A 23-year-old man was shot in the leg this afternoon in a gang-related incident, according to Chattanooga Police Officer Rebecca Royval.

Tracy Long Jr. told police he was walking in the 1700 block of Wilson Street around 2 p.m. when a man talked to him, then shot him in with a shot gun from a car.

Police describe the suspect as a black man with dreds wearing a black ball cap with a red “A.” He was driving a green car with tinted windows and a red fender or door.

Long’s injuries are non-life threatening.

A ball cap with a red "A"? As in "Astros?" What makes them think it was gang related? It seems gang has become synonymous with everything black, sporting dreds and crayola colors.

All right so red is for the bloods and blue is for the crips, what do you bet the one who did the shooting was a blood and the victim was a crip and the victim probably just got out of jail not too long ago and this might be the only way they could beef it out.

Yeah! JessieLouTN--but that "stereotyping" would have missed Mathews, the cop killer, by 1K miles. After all, only those individuals sporting red ball caps with the letter "A" and dred locks commit crimes, right? Yep! That stereotyping and racial profiling is a phenomenal thang!
