Lauren Alaina Suddeth picked as female most likely to make 'Idol's' Top 3

In today’s issue of USA Today, writer Ken Barnes ranks the remaining eight contestants on “American Idol,” citing Rossville’s Lauren Alaina Suddeth as the only girl with a chance to make the Top 3.

Viewers have systematically dismissed five of the seven female finalists in weekly votes. Suddeth and Haley Reinhart are the remaining females following the surprise elimination last week of Pia Toscana.

Barnes calls Suddeth the show’s “golden girl,” noting that the judges have fawned over her, the producers appear to dote on her personality and she is singled out for more attention than other finalists.

“If she continues to sing within her limitations, her charm could carry her to the top three,” he states. However, in the overall ranking, Reinhart is placed fifth and Suddeth as sixth.

The article’s unscientific formula for finalist finishes names Scotty McCreery as the candidate to beat, followed by a tie for second place between Casey Abrams and James Durbin.

Paul McDonald, whose mother is an instructor at UTC, is ranked fourth, Jacob Lusk at seventh after the two girls, and Stefano Langone in last place.
