Man robs East Ridge KFC

East Ridge police are looking for a man in connection with Tuesday’s armed robbery of KFC on Ringgold Road, according to police spokesman Officer Erik Hopkins.

Officers responded to a robbery call at the restaurant shortly before 10 p.m.

Restaurant staff told officers that a black male approximately 6-foot-1 wearing a plaid, long-sleeve shirt, khaki pants and a dark ski mask jumped over the counter and showed a handgun.

The man demanded the manager open the safe and a cash register. He fled with a small amount of money just before officers arrived, said Hopkins.

Officers assisted by a K-9 unit from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office tracked the robber to the area of the East Ridge Village Apartments at 5322 Clemons Road but were unable to locate him, Hopkins said.

Police are asking anyone with information about the robbery to call 423-867-3718.

A confidential tip line is available at 423-867-0016.
