The weekend roadwork that was scheduled to close parts of Interstate 24 has been canceled due to expected rain, according to TDOT.

TDOT said it has rescheduled the plans to remove and replace a 500-foot section near the Old Ringgold Road overpass for the weekend of April 29-May 1.

The shutdown is part of a $5.3 million TDOT resurfacing and repair project of the stretch between the Missionary Ridge cut near South Crest Road to west of Chattanooga Creek across the Tennessee River from Moccasin Bend.
