Chattanooga: Man robs bank, flees on bicycle

photo Chattanooga Police are looking for a man that robbed the Northpoint Blvd Suntrust Bank earlier this morning. Around 11:30, an armed gunman entered the building and walked into the office of one of the bank's financial advisors. At gunpoint, he demanded to see the manager. After realizing the manager was not available, he grabbed a teller and demanded money. After getting and undisclosed amount of money, the gunman fled the bank on a bicycle in an unknown direction. Officer responded within moments of the call of the robbery but werenÕt able to locate the suspect.

Chattanooga police continue to search for a bank robber who held up the SunTrust on Northpoint Boulevard about 11:30 a.m. today.

The bandit brandished a handgun and held up the bank with about five customers inside, police said. He demanded to see a manager and, when one was not available, he grabbed a teller at gunpoint, demanding money.

The man took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on a bicycle, police said.

The suspect, who was wearing a black ski mask and gloves, is believed to be 6 feet 3 and weighs about 250 pounds.
