Mocs' Skrine drafted by Browns

Saturday, April 30, 2011

Buster Skrine's wait has ended.

The former University of Tennessee at Chattanooga cornerback was drafted this afternoon by the Cleveland Browns, who used the sixth pick in the fifth round (No. 137 overall) to select the speedy, 5-foot-10, 186-pound corner.

Skrine, a two-time All-Southern Conference player, is the first UTC player drafted since Richmond Flowers and Terdell Sands were selected in the seventh round in 2001.

The Citadel cornerback Cortez Allen was the first SoCon player drafted, going to the Pittsburgh Steelers with the 31st pick in the fourth round.
