A couple were airlifted to Erlanger hospital Sunday evening after a serious motorcycle accident off East Valley Road in Sequatchie County.

Tennessee Highway Patrol authorities were still on the scene and didn’t have any further details at press time.

The crash was the second in the area over the weekend. On Saturday, a Dunlap woman died on state Highway 111, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Jennifer Benoit, a certified nurse assistant in Dunlap, was traveling on a wet road about 3:30 p.m. when she lost control of her car, veered off the road and crashed, the THP dispatcher said.

She wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the car.
