East Ridge burglaries suspect arrested

East Ridge police have nabbed a man they say is responsible for a rash of vehicle burglaries in the Mission Oaks subdivision.

Marvin Lee Hines, 37, was arrested Thursday afternoon after police initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle he was riding in, according to police spokesman Officer Erik Hopkins.

The car had been listed as a possible suspect vehicle linked to the series of car burglaries, Hopkins said. As the car pulled to a stop, the driver jumped out of the vehicle and ran away. Officers were unable to apprehend him but detained Hines, who was wearing gloves and had a screwdriver in his lap, said Hopkins.

Hines was taken into custody at the Hamilton County Jail where he has been charged with burglary of an auto, illegal possession of a credit card and possession of burglary tools.

He is scheduled to appear in East Ridge Municipal Court on Tuesday at 5 p.m. Hopkins said the investigation is ongoing and further charges are pending.

Cage those that act like animals. These gus have past records. Thank you East Ridge PD for catching these guys. Shame on Chattanooga PD for their telephone investigations and not having the stones to go after these crooks.

well i was hopin i was gonna be able to JUMP on judge sterns case over this dude BUT its doug myers whose been puttin him back on the street for the last 5 yrs. 8 cases before myers since 2004 involving burg.,agg burg.,theft and dope!!! maybe stern ain't the whole problem!!
