After having their plans to allow the sale of fireworks inside city limits possibly postponed by the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Regional Planning Commission, the city of East ridge has formed its own planning agency to get around the commission.
In a City Council meeting Thursday, Mayor Brent Lambert said the formation of a city planning commission would give East Ridge the ability to plan its own future without interference from others.
The council voted unanimously to form the planning commission.
