Deangelo Justice, 22, was charged with first degree murder Friday, August 12, 2011 in connection of the fatal shooting of James William, Jr.

Chattanooga police have charged a second suspect in the fatal shooting of 23-year-old James Williams Jr., according to an arrest report.

The report identifies Deangelo Napoleon Justice, 22, as a second gunman in a case where Williams was shot as many as 14 times with two different caliber bullets, according to a medical examiner's report.

Williams' girlfriend, Yetta Harris, 38, also was shot numerous times in the chest and stomach but survived.

The couple entered a home at 2305 E. 17th St. and witnessed Harris' 17-year-old son being robbed and assaulted. The teen told police that after he was robbed, his two assailants robbed the couple before opening fire on both of them.

"Mr. Williams gave the subjects an unknown amount of money, hoping they would leave without further incident," the arrest report states.

Another suspect, Jerrico Hawthorne, was arrested a few weeks ago along with his girlfriend, Lequela Bailey, in a hotel.

The report states that Harris and her son positively identified Hawthorne and Justice, who has a history of arrests. In March he received a suspended two-year sentence for possession of a prohibited weapon. Charges of aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery and aggravated assault were dismissed, according to court records.

Justice remains in jail without bond. His next court date is scheduled for Aug. 22 before General Sessions Court Judge Bob Moon.
