Two boys aged 14 and 17 have been charged with theft and burglary in connection with a series of car break-ins in Fyffe, Ala., DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris said in a news release today.
Harris said 14 vehicles were broken into over the night of July 31 and Aug. 1 in Fyffe's Sherwood subdivision. The thieves stole personal items, electronics and cash valued at $2,800.
The sheriff's office and Fyffe Police Department worked together on the investigation, Harris said.
The two youths are charged with multiple counts of breaking and entering a vehicle and theft of property, he said.
Some of the property has been recovered and returned to the owners and more recoveries are expected, he said.
