Football Preview: Ider Hornets

IDER HORNETS

Coach: Brent Tinker (34-48 here and overall)

Returning starters (O/D/K): 6/6/0

Remember these names: The offensive and defensive leaders return to give the Hornets a solid foundation for the season. Running back Teague Whitaker (Sr., 5-9, 185) will be a three-year starter, having rushed for at least 1,200 yards each of the last two seasons, and middle linebacker Tanner Frazier (Sr., 5-10, 175) also is a third-year starter and led the team in tackles last year. Two two-way junior linemen also return: Justin Lea (Jr., 6-4, 255), another third-year starter, and Hunter Townsend (Jr., 6-4, 255).

Will be a memorable year if: Some of the promising but inexperienced younger linebackers can help Frazier stuff opponents’ run game.
