A pedestrian was struck and killed last night at 10035 Birchwood Pike, Chattanooga police say.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office was notified at 10:49 p.m.
Police said investigators found that Clarence Duncan, 47, who was driving a 2000 Jeep Cherokee southbound on the road allegedly hit a pedestrian.
Witnesses interviewed stated the victim had been observed prior to the crash running in front of their vehicles in the middle of the roadway, police said.
The victim died from injuries sustained in the crash. No further information will be released regarding the victim pending family notification, police said.
The investigation is continuing.
