• Baylor: Senior QB Matthew Oellerich ran for 146 yards and scored three TDs as the Red Raiders rebounded to beat Bradley Central 45-28.

• Bledsoe County: Brandon Smith, building on a fabulous first game in which he contributed 349 total yards, scored on an 84-yard kickoff return, two 27-yard runs and a 10-yard fumble return as the Warriors belted Marion County 53-21.

• Boyd-Buchanan: Stephen Ingram blocked an overtime extra-point kick and had eight tackles in the Buccaneers' 7-6 win over East Ridge.

• Bradley Central: QB Bryce Copeland rushed for 108 yards and passed for 211 but the Bears fell to Bradley Central 48-28.

• Brainerd: Isaiah Hayes, who is also among the Panthers' defensive leaders, scored a pair of TDs including a game-icing 8-yard run with 2:12 left in the game as his team bested host Rhea County 19-12.

• Calhoun: Darius Washington scored a pair as the Yellowjackets notched four unanswered TDs to rally past Dalton 24-12. Washington finished with 103 yards on 21 carries.

• Central: Robert Cobb rushed 10 times for 140 yards as the Purple Pounders opened the year with a 29-13 victory over Central.

• Chattanooga Christian: Beau Simmons opened the second half with an 81-yard kickoff return but it was nowhere near enough as the Chargers fell 42-14 to Lookout Valley.

• Cleveland: Chad Voytik accounted for 307 yards, 248 through the air, tossing one TD pass and rushing for another score in the Blue Raiders' 37-21 loss to Knox Catholic.

• Dade County: Travis Nunley scored the game's only TD on a 19-yard run with 5:21 left in the fourth quarter of a 7-0 victory over Gordon Lee.

• Dalton: Tre Beck rushed for 107 yards and both TDs but the Catamounts surrendered a 14-0 lead and lost 24-14 at Calhoun.

• East Hamilton: Logan Jackson rushed for 105 yards and both scores but the Hurricanes fell to neighbor Ooltewah 41-13.

• East Ridge: Torrey Hughes turned in a 17-tackle performance and kept the Pioneers close before they suffered their first loss of the year, 7-6 in overtime to Boyd-Buchanan.

• Grundy County: Johnny Cook rushed for 58 yards and his team's only touchdown in a 43-7 loss to South Pittsburg.

• Heritage: Ethan Thompson rushed eight times for 111 yards and a TD to lead the Generals' 34-0 victory over North Murray.

• Hixson: Senior Clarencio Holmes scored two TDs, rushed for 224 yards (21 carries) and added nine tackles while playing linebacker as the Wildcats upended Walker Valley 36-20.

• LaFayette: Devarus Porter rushed 16 times for 180 yds and 2 TD's in a 21-20 loss to Chattooga.

• Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe: Bubba Cruz rushed for 71 yards at Finley Stadium but the Warriors fell to Ringgold 34-10.

• Lookout Valley: Chris Walton scored four touchdowns -- on a 50-yard run, a 94-yard kickoff return and receptions of 7 and 13 yards as the Yellow Jackets clubbed Chattanooga Christian 42-14.

• Marion County: Blake Zeman picked up 164 yards on 12 carries and scored a TD but the Warriors fell 53-21 to unbeaten Bledsoe County.

• McCallie: Senior QB Trent Lusk ran for two TDs and passed for another as the Blue Tornado pounced early and held on for a convincing 56-34 win over McMinn County.

• McMinn County: Nathan Simbeck threw two touchdown passes and finished with a 14-21-0 night in the Cherokees' 56-34 loss to McCallie.

• Meigs County: Travis Savage had his second straight 100-yard rushing effort, picking up 108 yards on 29 carries, but he and the Tigers fell to unbeaten Sequatchie County 21-2.

• Northwest Whitfield: Nathan Sistrunk had 16 carries for 121 yards and a TD but the Bruins fell 28-7 to Lambert.

• North Jackson: Kahne Cooper caught two passes for 58 yards and a TD and also completed two of five passes for 44 yards as the Chiefs went on the road and bested Madison Academy 31-10.

• Notre Dame: Matt Reilly caught nine passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns and a two-point conversion.

• Ooltewah: Bradley Stephens threw three touchdown passes and completed 15 of 30 passes for 320 yards in the Owls' 41-13 victory over neighbor East Hamilton.

• Polk County: Alex Akins scored both of the Wildcats' TDs -- and also gave them an early lead -- but they fell to 0-2 following a 29-13 loss to Central.

• Red Bank: Junior QB Hagen Wilkey ran for one touchdown and threw for another, finishing with 181 passing yards and 59 rushing yards and set up a key touchdown with a third-down, 30-yard second-half run as the Lions opened their season with a 42-35 win over Soddy-Daisy.

• Rhea County: Michael Valencic scored one of the Golden Eagles' two TDs but they lose a close one to visiting Brainerd, 19-12.

• Ringgold: Mark Fairbanks scored the game's first two touchdowns, giving the Tigers a lead they'd never relinquish is a 34-10 victory over Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe.

• Sequatchie County: Eli Stout completed 5 of 8 passes with no interceptions for 121 yards and two TDs as the Indians moved to 2-0.

• Signal Mountain: Junior QB Reese Phillips completed 12-of-23 passes, including 8-of-10 in the first half, form 262 yards and three touchdowns as the Eagles rolled to win No. 2 with a 38-6 dismantling of Tyner.

• Silverdale Baptist: Matt McCulley scored four touchdowns, all on 1-yard runs, as the Seahawks bested Community 35-0.

• Soddy-Daisy: Cedric Edwards remains without a 100-yard rushing effort this year but the senior RB picked up two TDs and 84 yards on 18 carries. The Trojans lost to Red Bank 42-35.

• South Pittsburg: Jiajuan Lankford's three-TD night included a 134-yard rushing effort (10 carries) as the Pirates opened 2011 with a 43-7 win over Grundy County.

• Trion: Corey Bethune had 13 carries for 108 yards and two TDs in a 33-13 loss to Armuchee.

• Tyner: Bobby Hendricks rushed seven times for 76 yards and scored the Rams' only touchdown in a 38-6 loss to Signal Mountain.

• Walker Valley: Gabe Cartwright rushed for 92 yards on 19 carries and scored two touchdowns but the Mustangs suffered their second loss, 36-20 to Hixson.
