KNOXVILLE - The University of Tennessee football team released the depth chart for Saturday's season opener against Montana.
There weren't many surprises with the depth chart, as the Volunteers have been set with their personnel for the latter two weeks of camp or so at most positions. Anthony Anderson's switch to receiver has gone well, as the fifth-year senior has carved out a backup spot in a little more than a week.
As expected, a handful of true freshmen dot the depth chart. There are nine new faces on the offensive two-deep and four for the defense.
11:55 a.m. UPDATE
Freshman safety Pat Martin will transfer, coach Derek Dooley announced after practice in what he called a mutual decision. Martin, a four-star recruit from Greenville, S.C., was not listed on the two-deep depth chart.
Receivers Rajon Neal (knee) and Matt Milton (concussion) were back at practice in red non-contact jerseys, and tailback Tom Smith (knee) and receiver Zach Rogers (triceps) returned to practice fully.
