County Patrolman Caught With Meth Lab posted August 15, 2003
(Tenn)A Hamilton County Patrolman was arrested early Friday morning and charged with operating a meth lab at his apartment on Memorial Drive in Red Bank.
Robert G. Prichard, who was a detective sergeant in Red Bank before joining the county in May 2002, faces a variety of drug charges.
He is being held on $130,000 bond at the Hamilton County Jail.
Sheriff John Cupp said officers have been investigating Prichard for the past several weeks. He said a search warrant was executed at Prichard's residence at 621 Memorial Drive, Apt. 801.
Prichard and two other men were arrested.
Sheriff Cupp said OSHA came in to remove the meth lab.
He said Prichard, 32, gave a brief statement and admitted using drugs within the past 48 hours.
He was charged with felony possession of psilocybin (DMT) Schedule 1, manufacturing MDMA/Ecstasy, manufacturing methamphetamine and felony possesion of drug paraphernalia.
He is due to appear in General Sessions Court on Aug. 15.
Also charged were his roommates, Floyd A. Thompson and Michael B. Oxendine. Thompson was charged with one count of manufacturing a controlled substance and one count of felony possesion of drug paraphernalia. Oxendine was charged with one count of felony possesion of drug paraphernalia.
