Chattanooga man arrested on 118th charge

A 38-year-old man was arrested on charges of aggravated statutory rape Tuesday, the 118th time he’s been charged in Hamilton County in the past 18 years, records show.

Dedrick Lamont Lindsey was arrested after a 16-year-old told a Chattanooga police officer about what had allegedly happened, according to a police report.

Lindsey goes to trial Sept. 20 on the rape charge.

Why this this piece of excrement allowed to walk the streets given the outrageous number of charges he had accumulated? Still waiting on the Free Press do do a story on why career criminals continue to be allowed to walk the streets in our city.

Please excuese my lateness in posting my comment, as my blood pressure is still boiling. As noted above, why is this piece of excretment on the streets? 118 rapes in 18 years equates to 6.56 rapes per year, one every other month!!! Was there any judges? Was there any jurys? Where are the attorneys? Is there anyone in a right mind in Hamilton County? This man belongs behind bars forever. No chance of parole, even after he is castrated! How anyone can let this man walk any street is totally incomprehensible to me. Is Hamilton County afraid to put him in jail? Why? Afraid he will be molested by other inmates? Too bad, so sad, what goes around, comes around. Surely all the moms, dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. should be in the courtroom on Sept. 20th to be sure this piece of excretment never walks any street ever again.

mona1000, he has been charged 118 times in Hamilton County. I don't think they were all for rape! I do agree that he should be under the jail by now, though! Obviously no hope for this thing.

118 CHARGES...NOT RAPE CHARGES. Learn to read before you start runnin your mouth judgin people. I agree that is A LOT of charges, but lookin at the way everyone treats the kids growin up in the area he is from... is blame now and think later, if at all. the men and women in that area make quick easy scapegoats for everyone. I do know this man, and he is not a bad guy, he has done some bad things....but im sure everyone has made questionable choices... and once you get that 1st charge NO ONE wants to give you a chance at a good job or anything else...its either survive or die.
