GREENSBORO, N.C. — The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s basketball team survived a rough start to Southern Conference play to beat UNC Greensboro 63-46 tonight at Fleming Gymnasium.
The Lady Mocs trailed by 15 points after less than 6 minutes of play before dominating the rest of the game. After being behind 20-5 with 14:22 left in the opening half, UTC outscored the Spartans 58-26 the rest of the way.
Whitney Hood led UTC with 19 points and eight rebounds and Kayla Christopher scored 17 and had six assists. Taylor Hall had a game-high 12 rebounds and Kylie Lambert grabbed 11 as UTC outrebounded the Spartans 53-37.
The Lady Mocs visit Elon on Saturday.
