about Clay Bennett...

The son of a career army officer, Bennett led a nomadic life, attending ten different schools before graduating in 1980 from the University of North Alabama with degrees in Art and History. After brief stints as a staff artist at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Fayetteville (NC) Times, he went on to serve as the editorial cartoonist for the St. Petersburg Times (1981-1994) and The Christian Science Monitor (1997-2007), before joining the staff of the ...

BRP just offered another of his yawn inducing swipes at a Bennett cartoon. Don't be mad. That's what he wants. It's straight out of GOP strategy dating back to Reagan. The 'great' communicator would juice up the campaign crowds in 1980 by railing against 'welfare queens' driving their 'Caddys' and living in mansions. ON WELFARE! Some of you are saying, Wait...what?

The statement is stupid and demonstrably false and just a wee bit racist. But that's the point. The conservative crowds loved it, but it also drove liberals crazy. Reagan was denounced in editorials across the country but many people who had been clinging to the democratic party switched and became 'Reagan democrats.'

The second payoff is the chance to brag about attacks leveled by the liberal media.

Thanks, BRP. Nice history lesson. Newt is running the same play now with his 'poor children should be janitors in their own schools,' malarkey. Oh how you conservative love to dump on the poor, plus you get the added bonus of seeing liberals get mad.

Don't worry. If Newt were elected he wouldn't lift a finger to roll back child labor laws anymore than Reagan lifted a finger to reduce welfare.

Here's a quick joke: What did the sadist do to the masochist?

BRP is a masochist. He loves to inspire frenzied responses from liberals, so If you want to really hurt his feelings... do not respond. Ignore him for being shallow, predictable, and not even (intentionally) funny.

Bottom line, would Harman Cain govern better than Barack Obama? Answer, probably so, because liberalism (some people telling other people what to do) does not work. Let us choose our own light bulbs and toilet tanks.

And IF these allegations are false, if they're dirty tricks from David Axelrod who works for President Obama, what does that say about our current President's character? Fish rot from the head, eh?

b48, nice job 'ignoring' BRP with a post twice this long.

No, Andrew, this isn't an Axelrod dirty trick, it is coming from Gloria. After all these years of his lies and her suspicions, she is stopping him from embarrassing her and the family any further. He didn't seem to have the sense to do it himself. He embarrassed his congregation, too. As a Baptist minister and family values candidate, he has shown himself to be the worst kind of sleezy hypocrite.

Each week a new smutty allegation came out on Cain. Even with Cain exiting the stage, we have Gingrich who will fill the tabloids with material. Gingrich was third in line for Presidency back in the 90's and had to resign in disgrace, since then, he's changed only for the worse. By election time, we will all want to keep our children away from Republican Presidential Candidates. Yuck is right.

If a conservative cartoonist had depicted something similar about Barack Hussein Obama, no doubt Clay and Company would decry it as racist. Perhaps sanctimonious liberals are impervious to shame and can only see racism in others, not themselves. Herman Cain would wipe the floor with Obama in a debate. It is the racists in the Democratic Party that chose to vote for a disciple of America-hating Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers and Saul Alinsky. I hope this country is soon retrieved from the radical, left-wing clutches it finds itself in today. Thanks alot Democrats for foisting BHO on this undeserving nation. Herman Cain is a better man by far.

Interesting that you would draw that conclusion, Andrew. Our current mess largely is the the consequence of more than 30-years of free-market selfishness, influenced with a lot of the libertarianism that you advocate. Clearly, you understand another trick in the conservative playbook - identify your own greatest weakness and project it onto your political adversary.

It is naive to think either party is willing to act in the best interest of the majority or the middle class which is growing smaller and smaller.

NAFTA which was supported by Reagan and pushed by Clinton and his promise to support any republican supporting it in their next run for office (see NAFTA). He signed it into law in, I think, 1993. It has been a poor model for other so called "free trade" agreements which have contributed to reducing mfg. jobs to around 10% from a high of about 48%. Good mfg. jobs created the middle class and a growing economy. We have not had free market capitalism since the government began intervening in ways other than regulating all equally and assuring competition with no unfair advantages. They now want to help manage American businesses and select winners and losers by intervening through the tax system, subsidies, grants and other tools of government manipulation.

Ron Paul may be radical in some of his views and many people are frightened by that with the media helping scare them. But, he does appear to be credible and willing to be honest with the American people. I don't vote in primaries but if he should prevail I would listen attentively to him and the incumbent. I wish candidates had to reveal who they would have on their staff before the vote.

There is nothing more foul or deserving of the word "YUCK" than a man receiving a bj from another woman while under the same roof his wife and daughter are under. Nothing is yuckier than that, no matter how much you Dems say otherwise.

Herman Cain deserves all the criticism he gets for his failings, it's fair game because he's running for president, but this isn't about a guy faltering, it's about the anger unleashed by you Dems against a black man for having a different ideology than you do, and for belonging to a different party. You Dems are cracking the whip.

Everyone should be treated equally. If Eric Holder were white and a Republican, Democrats would be at the Justice Department with torches and pitchforks demanding he resign or be held accountable. Where are the cartoons by Bennett regarding the officers killed by the guns that were allowed to fall into the hands of Mexican thugs?

I guess you Dems are ok with corrupt and incompetent black men, as long as they're Democrats, huh?

Cain is now gone so Clay will start up on the other GOP candidates. Anyone is going to be better than Oblamea.(OB) When OB stated that "We have to level the playing field" is a Socialist statement. The take over of GM, telling CEO's how much they can make. There is more and he is for Big Government and a nanny State. No Socialistic government has never succeeded, and never will. When will the Libs finally realize this? They have and can take down a government but have never figured out how to, sustain it. When they run out of other people's money, down goes their utopia. There are leeches, blood suckers, parasites, and liberals. All of them have an insatiable appetite and want more and more from the body or in this case the Government. People who have been given benefits (takers) will take the path of least resistance and want more and more. (Human nature) They then don't have the intelligence to realize where the money is coming from ("it comes from Obama's stash) and then when they don't get it any more, they get mad at the givers, not the Liberal Government who made them dependable on the nanny state. (Who's your daddy) This is the common sense description what a leech, blood sucker, parasite, and a liberal are. The liberals have no new and innovative ideas of their own for reforming the very broken Government institutions they help create. They only can demonize Conservative legislative proposals and ridicule them all for their power, always using the class warfare card. They can't run on their record so it is attack, attack, and, attack. The libs have the leverage in television, media, newspapers, movies. classrooms and the courts to advance their big government Socialist agenda. The libs are now all upset when the Conservatives (we really have a long way to go on this and a lot to learn) strike back through talk radio. Fox News, Cable, etc. The good decent hard working people are sick and tried of supporting all of the takers. They see how the great America Liberal Cities are crap holes for decades run by Liberals.. Every liberal institution and polices like, education, social security, forced busing, public housing, reeducation, high taxes, managed health care and welfare all have been colossal failures.

Cont' The Conservatives now see, thanks to the above listed news sources, that the Conservatives/Libertarians, are the people that are best on defense, national security, the economy, traditional family values, important reforms, such as reforming and strengthening Social Security, Health Care and public schools through school choice. They are for the principles of a free market capitalistic government and a limited government. they look up to our Founding Fathers and embrace the Rule of Law, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, traditional Judeo-Christian principles, free markets. protection of our borders, language and culture. Yes we are a melting pot, we honor and celebrate the different cultures that have made our Country great, but fight to the death the subcultures that are ruining this Country. They now know that the more their individual rights are diminished, the easier it becomes for the liberals to maintain and consolidate their power and gain their Socialist goals. It seems to me politicians seeking endorsements from high profile individuals have concluded people do not and will not think for themselves but will follow the lead of the endorser. I can't imagine voting for someone because some rich person, celebrity or media person endorsed them. If you are a democrat would you vote for Obama because Buffet, Soros, Gates, some athlete or movie person supported him? Why would republicans give a darn who Palen, Trump and now Cain or others "endorsed? I can hear it now; oh I am voting for XXXXX, Trump endorsed him you know.....Those supporting a party often quote some news media source or an Internet message or a web site as their personal belief. Unfortunately people allow themselves to be controlled that way. It is hard work to listen, investigate and reach a personal conclusion. It is evident that very few have taken the time to read proposed or recently passed legislation. The AHCA is only one example.

As I sit and read a lot of this garbage of people telling everyone else they are wrong for who they may support. It makes me think do none of you realize the problems this country is facing are from both parties. The career politicians on both sides have ruined this country Republicans and Democrats alike. It seems no politician ever cares what is best for America anymore, they are more concerned in helping themselves or their particular party. It is a shame that the R & D could not just be removed and everyone run as Americans then maybe people would try to save this country.
