The death of a Harrison man has been ruled a homicide.

Detectives from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office arrived at 6422 Ware Branch Cove Drive today and found a body in the basement. The amount of blood around the body suggested the death was not natural, authorities said.

The name and the cause of death are not being released until the medical examiner makes a positive ID and family members are notified, said Janice Atkinson, spokeswoman for the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.

Residents of the neighborhood can come and go as they please, she said.

"There are no reasons for the residents in the area to be concerned for their safety and well being," she added.

Authorities are looking for a person of interest in connection with the homicide, authorities said.

Sheriff Jim Hammond said detectives want to find the driver of a maroon or red 2005 Ford pickup truck with a Tennessee Walking Horse license tag number 1WH028. No physical description of the driver was immediately available.

Hammond said a woman called authorities around 10 a.m. when she hadn't heard from her brother.
