A man was struck by a car in Dalton early this morning, police said.
At about 12:16 a.m. the Dalton Police Department was dispatched to the North Bypass in the area of Polypac Drive to investigate a report of a pedestrian walking south in the roadway.
When an officer arrived on scene he found that a man had been struck by a car south of Chattanooga Ave. on the bypass.
The pedestrian was transported to Hamilton Medical Center with multiple injuries, police said. The driver was not injured in the crash.
Both names are being held until notification of next of kin.
