Update: Dalton police investigate possible child abduction

Dalton Police investigators will be talking to students as they come home from school today to try to find other students who knew the boy or who know what happened at the bus stop this morning.

Officials in the Dalton Public School system have accounted for all students. Dalton Police are still working to contact all residents in the neighborhood,

Dalton, Ga. and state law enforcement personnel are investigating a possible child abduction reported by another child.

Earlier in the morning, a child reported seeing a boy waiting at a bus stop being taken into a gold car or SUV earlier this morning, Dalton Police Department spokesman Bruce Frazier said.

All the children who were supposed to be on the school bus riding through the neighborhood where the possible abduction was reported have been accounted for, he said.

Police have set up a command post near the intersection of Cotton Street and Matilda Street.
