Calhoun 28, Dalton 14 (Aug. 26)

The Yellow Jackets found themselves trailing 14-0 in the first half after two Tre Beck touchdown runs. However, a play-action touchdown pass from Taylor Lamb to Alex Kirby, an Adam Griffith field goal and the first of two Darius Washington touchdown runs erased the lead. Dalton was driving late, but a fake punt attempt was thwarted, leading to a Washington 1-yard scoring run that sealed the tough opening win.

Calhoun 38, Armuchee 7 (Sept. 2)

Two forced turnovers in the first half led to two scores and a 21-7 lead before the Calhoun offense came to life behind senior running back Darius Washington in the second half. Washington ended the game with two touchdown runs and a 16-yard touchdown reception from Taylor Lamb.

In the first of two games with the Dragons, junior quarterback Taylor Lamb completed 21 of 25 passes for 267 yards and three touchdowns and added two short touchdown runs. Ben Lamb had scoring catches of 23 and 35 yards, and Chase Rierson made a 26-yard touchdown catch.

Calhoun 66, Sonoraville 0 (Sept. 30)

The Jackets throttled their Gordon County neighbors with a 53-point first half that included four forced turnovers and five Taylor Lamb touchdowns. Cousin Ben Lamb caught five balls for 107 yards and two scores, while Chase Rierson had an 85-yard scoring catch and Alex Urbano ran for two touchdowns.

The Calhoun offense was unstoppable early, with quarterback Taylor Lamb completing 15 of 17 passes for 239 yards and three touchdowns in the opening half, the scores going to Chase Rierson, Clay Johnson and Josh Barnes. Senior linebacker Alex Kirby had a 20-yard fumble return for touchdown.

Calhoun 43, Gordon Central 14 (Oct. 14)

An odd first half that ended with Calhoun leading 37-7 included a Taylor Lamb 4-yard touchdown pass to himself. The junior scored when his pass was batted back to him on a fourth-down play. Alex Urbano and Darius Washington combined for two touchdowns and 107 rushing yards in the first half, while Clay Johnson added an interception return for a score.

Taylor Lamb passed for four touchdowns to four receivers and ran for another as the Yellow Jackets built a 41-0 halftime lead. Darius Washington added a 71-yard touchdown run and the Calhoun defense allowed only one possession to cross midfield in the opening half.

Calhoun 35, Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe 13 (Oct. 28)

In poor weather conditions, the Yellow Jackets used three touchdowns from senior running back Darius Washington, including a 66-yard run, and a 66-yard scoring pass from Taylor Lamb to Chase Rierson to overcome the Warriors.

The Yellow Jackets captured their 11th consecutive region championship as Taylor Lamb passed for 155 yards and four touchdowns and Darius Washington had his best game of the season with 175 yards on the ground and three scores. The Calhoun defense held one of the state's premier running backs, Janier Ferguson, to 84 yards.

Calhoun 39, Jefferson 6 (Nov. 11)

The playoff opener proved to be tough as the No. 4-seeded Dragons stayed close for a half. An Alex Kirby 41-yard fumble return for a touchdown was a key early play, and quarterback Taylor Lamb was an efficient 18-for-23 for 202 yards and a 14-yard scoring pass to Ben Lamb. Darius Washington led Jackets rushers with 89 yards and a touchdown.

Calhoun 43, Brooks County 30 (Nov. 18)

The score was not indicative of how dominant the Yellow Jackets were in this rematch of the 2008 Class AA semifinal classic in Quitman. Calhoun rolled to a 36-0 lead on the strength of 227 yards and three touchdowns from quarterback Taylor Lamb before coach Hal Lamb put his reserves in late in the third quarter. The stifling Calhoun defense forced six turnovers, including four interceptions.

Calhoun 45, Dublin 7 (Nov. 25)

Senior linebacker Hunter Knight led a dominating defensive performance with four sacks as the Yellow Jackets held the potent Dublin rushing attack to a net of 7 yards through three quarters. Quarterback Taylor Lamb threw for two touchdowns and ran for two. Four receivers caught touchdown passes, Chase Rierson leading the way with 121 yards on six catches as Calhoun racked up 523 yards of total offense.

Calhoun 27, Buford 24, OT (Dec. 9)

Adam Griffith kicked four field goals, including the championship-clinching 32-yarder in overtime, as the Yellow Jackets earned the school's first state title since 1952 and ended a three-year title-game losing streak to the Wolves. Calhoun limited Buford's powerful running game to 38 yards in the second half and caused four fumbles, including a hit by Hunter Knight in overtime that set up the winning field goal. The Jackets held a 24-10 lead with just over a minute to play in regulation when the Wolves scored on a long pass and a botched Calhoun punt snap and 38-yard touchdown return, setting up overtime for the second consecutive season between the two teams.
