Radical, unstable Iran's nuclear threat

If anything demonstrates the instability and radicalism that reign in Iran, it was the recent violent seizing of the British diplomatic compound in Tehran by hundreds of crazed Iranians. It is widely believed that the Iranian government actually encouraged the "protesters" to attack the British Embassy. They threw gasoline bombs and left offices in shambles.

That disorder, however, pales by comparison with the main threat that Iran poses: It is working feverishly to build nuclear weapons, and its leaders have vowed to wipe the nation of Israel off the map. They don't have the conventional military force to do that, but with a nuclear weapon, they could cause unspeakable devastation in Israel and destabilize the entire Middle East.

It should come as no surprise, therefore, that Israel is girding up for the possible necessity of launching strikes against Iran to destroy its nuclear capabilities.

We cannot blame the Israelis.

Tell us please, Mr Editor, about the black ops aggression and attacks sponsered by the US and some of our NATO partners against internal targets within Iran. Does our hubris allow us to ignore sovereign rights to achieve dubious foreign policy objectives?

You appear to be the victim of the on-going neo-con proparanda campaign against Iran that is attempting to make the American public believe that war against Iran would be good. Hopefully the American public has been suckered into too much warfare to repeat the same mistake again.

There is NO reason to go to Iran. Even if they develop a bomb. What are they going to do with it? Fed Ex? Even if they did could we not massively retaliate with conventional weapons? Could Israel not retaliate and be in no danger of being reviled as the aggressor by the world? Preemptive strikes are self fulfilling prophecies of war. Why should we fall into the trap?

Should it come to that, it is hoped the first place nuked with a suitcase bomb [yes, delivered by FedEx et al] will not be NYC...

I can think of a much better place. Then we could start over...while fulfilling our duty as described in our Founding Documents.
