If anything demonstrates the instability and radicalism that reign in Iran, it was the recent violent seizing of the British diplomatic compound in Tehran by hundreds of crazed Iranians. It is widely believed that the Iranian government actually encouraged the "protesters" to attack the British Embassy. They threw gasoline bombs and left offices in shambles.

That disorder, however, pales by comparison with the main threat that Iran poses: It is working feverishly to build nuclear weapons, and its leaders have vowed to wipe the nation of Israel off the map. They don't have the conventional military force to do that, but with a nuclear weapon, they could cause unspeakable devastation in Israel and destabilize the entire Middle East.

It should come as no surprise, therefore, that Israel is girding up for the possible necessity of launching strikes against Iran to destroy its nuclear capabilities.

We cannot blame the Israelis.
