Tuesday, December 13, 2011

Roadwork and repairs will lead to road and lane closings starting today.

The southbound off ramp from U.S. 27 to Fourth Street will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today and Wednesday for road maintenance, according to a news release from Chattanooga's Traffic Engineering Department.

During closure times, traffic will be detoured to M.L. King Boulevard, the release said.

Traffic on the south side of the Wilcox Boulevard Bridge will be shifted to the north side starting today at 8:30 a.m. because of repairs. The work is scheduled to last two weeks, the release said.

Because of paving on Fourth Avenue from East 23rd Street to East 28th Street starting today at 8:30 a.m., there will be brief closings of the ramps from Interstate 24 at Fourth Avenue. The eastbound detour will use Westside Drive and the westbound detour will use Rossville Boulevard, the release said.
