The Chattanooga area had a serious claim to being the toughest part of the state in Class A/AA girls' soccer during the 2011 season. Seven schools were ranked at some point, including three in District 7 all season long.

That power proved itself in the all-state selections.

Half of the 24 members of the Tennessee High School Soccer Coaches Association A/AA all-state team hail from area schools, led by Notre Dame's five selections and Chattanooga Christian's four.

Baylor in Division II had the most selections for any area school with seven, while Soddy-Daisy in Class AAA had three.

For Baylor's Lady Red Raiders, who won their second consecutive state title, Chloe Brackett and McKenzie Thomas were all-state forwards, Peyton Thomas and Grace Stewart were honored as midfielders and Teni Butler and Paige Elliott were selected as defenders.

Baylor sophomore Analiese Smith was a selection at goalkeeper, along with GPS's Simone Busby.

Soddy-Daisy's all-staters were forwards Hannah Wyatt and Summer Lanter and goalkeeper Haley Myers.

Notre Dame's Blair Barker, Gaby Gurrola and Sophie Mullin were selected as midfielders, joined by defender Ashley Henry and goalkeeper Grace Courter. CCS's Natalie Thedford and Ashley Simmons were midfielder selections, while Allie Sullivan made the team as a defender and Lauren Pruitt at keeper.

East Hamilton's Kendra Ivins was another selection at goalkeeper, while Signal Mountain's Becca Blevins made the team as a forward and Boyd-Buchanan's Allana Barnes as a midfielder.
