“American Idol” runner-up Lauren Alaina will ring in 2012 in Las Vegas with a performance on “American Country New Year’s Eve Live,” according to Dixie Owen, spokesman for Universal Music Co.
The television special will air live on Fox Network at 11 p.m. on Dec. 31.
The New Year’s Eve gig wraps up what Lauren called “the biggest year of her life” in a news release. After coming in second on “Idol,” the Rossville teen signed with Mercury Nashville/19 Recordings/Interscope Records. She has performed at the White House, the Grand Ole Opry and on ABC Television’s “CMA Country Christmas.”
In January, she will be the opening act for Jason Aldean’s “My Kinda Party” arena tour.

GREAT!! I heard rumors(from other comments in other articles) that she dropped a few pounds. I sure hope not. I am really looking forward to seeing the extra cushion on stage. I sure hope she doesn't forget the words again!
