A man and woman were arrested Monday on drug charges following a high-speed chase through Whitfield and Murray counties in North Georgia that ended in a crash.

John Travis Horn, 47, was driving a Ford Explorer on Maple Grove Road in Dalton, Ga., when a Georgia State Patrol trooper tried to stop his car.

Horn refused, instead driving until he wrecked his vehicle on Greeson Bend Road in Murray County, according to Whitfield County Sheriff Scott Chitwood.

Horn and his passenger, Debora Faye Brown, 49, were arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. Horn was also charged with multiple traffic violations.

The arrests come after an undercover investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Whitfield County Sheriff's Office seized more than a pound of methamphetamine, which Chitwood said is worth more than $20,000.
